This segment operates as a market maker in securities quoted and traded on the Nasdaq Stock Market; the over-the-counter market for New York Stock Exchange, NYSE Amex Equities, and NYSE Arca listed securities; and Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, and various other exchanges primarily located in Europe and Asia. The company’s Global Execution Services segment offers access to markets and self-directed trading through its electronic agency-based platforms. This segment also provides a suite of trading tools to institutions. It serves hedge funds, long-only portfolio managers, banks, corporations, algorithmic traders, and the retail investors. The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey.
