Guangshen Railway Company Limited provides passenger and freight transportation services on the Shenzhen-Guangzhou-Pingshi railway in the People's Republic of China. The company offers long distance passenger transportation services. Its freight services include the transportation of full load and single load cargo, containers, bulky and overweight cargo, dangerous cargo, fresh and live cargo, and oversized cargo. In addition, the company provides railway network usage and services, including the locomotive traction, track usage, vehicle coupling, electric catenaries, and other services; and other transportation-related services, such as railway operation services, as well as lease of locomotive and passenger cars, as well as engages in the sale of food, beverages, and merchandise on board the trains and in railway stations. Further, it is involved in train repair, sale of materials and supplies, on-board catering, sale of goods, labor services, loading and unloading, and other businesses related to railway transportation; and offers warehousing, hotel management, freight transport agency, and catering management services. Additionally, the company engages in property management activities; and the supervision of construction projects. As of December 31, 2012, it operated 233.5 pairs of passenger trains, including 105 pairs of intercity high-speed trains between Guangzhou and Shenzhen; 13 pairs of Hong Kong Through trains; and 115.5 pairs of long-distance trains. The company was founded in 1996 and is based in Shenzhen, the People's Republic of China.
