Capital Senior Living Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, operates senior living communities in the United States. The company provides senior living services to the elderly, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and home care services. Its independent living services include daily meals, transportation, social and recreational activities, laundry, housekeeping, and staffing; and access to health screenings, periodic special services, dietary and similar programs, and ongoing exercise and fitness classes. The company's assisted living services include personal care services, such as assistance with activities of daily living comprising ambulation, bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, personal hygiene, and monitoring or assistance with medications; support services, including meals, assistance with social and recreational activities, laundry, general housekeeping, maintenance, and transportation services; and supplemental services comprising extra transportation services, personal maintenance, extra laundry services, and special care services, such as services for residents with certain forms of dementia. It also provides continuing care retirement community services, such as long-term care, and restorative nursing and rehabilitation services in its communities, including physical, occupational, speech, and medical social services; and home care services. As of December 31, 2012, the company operated 101 senior living communities in 23 states with an aggregate capacity of approximately 13,650 residents, including 51 senior living communities, which the company either owned or had an ownership interest, and 50 senior living communities that the company leased; and 1 home care agency. Capital Senior Living Corporation was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
