Civitas Solutions, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides home- and community-based health and human services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, physical or behavioral disabilities, and other special needs in the United States. It operates in two segments, Human Services and Post-Acute Specialty Rehabilitation Services. The company's human services comprise residential support, day habilitation, vocational services, case management, crisis intervention, and hourly support services for adults and children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities; and therapeutic foster care, family preservation, adoption services, early intervention, school-based services, and juvenile offender programs for youth with emotional, behavioral, and/or medically complex challenges. It also provides post-acute specialty rehabilitation services, such as neurorehabilitation, neurobehavioral rehabilitation, specialized nursing, supported living, outpatient treatment, and pre-vocational services, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapies for individuals who have sustained brain, spinal cord, and other catastrophic injuries and illnesses. Civitas Solutions, Inc. serves governmental agencies, non-public payors, and not-for-profit organizations. The company was formerly known as NMH Holdings, Inc. The company was founded in 1980 and is based in Boston, Massachusetts. Civitas Solutions, Inc. is a subsidiary of NMH Investment, LLC.
