China Telecom Corporation Limited, together with its subsidiaries, provides wireline and mobile telecommunications services primarily in the People's Republic of China. Its services include wireline and mobile local and long distance telephony services; managed data services; leased line, roaming, and interconnection arrangements; broadband Internet; value-added telecommunications services, such as Internet access services and information services; integrated information application services; and other related services. The company also provides international telecommunications services, including leased line, international Internet access and transit, and Internet data centre service in certain countries of the Asia Pacific, South America, and North America regions. Further, it engages in the sale, rental, repair, and maintenance of equipment; provision of system integration and consulting, e-commerce and booking, and video media services; ands sale of telecommunications terminals, as well as offers prepaid calling cards. The company serves government, enterprise, commercial, and residential customers. As of December 31, 2012, it operated a wireline network of approximately 163 million access lines in service; and served 90 million wireline broadband subscribers and 161 million mobile subscribers. The company was incorporated in 2002 and is based in Beijing, the People's Republic of China. China Telecom Corporation Limited is a subsidiary of China Telecommunications Corporation.
